From Apprentice Electrician to Top-Ranked Independent Artist

I am a Native American Rapper from Arizona, who genuinely thought she was only going to be a small voice in the Arizona Rap Music scene. I ended up becoming a Top-Ranked Hip-Hop and R&B Artist in the world.

The crazy part? I was, and still am, completely independent! Which means, I get to do things my way. But doing things my way means being relentlessly independent.

I struggled with marketing and having a solid online presence.

I had ideas for my brand but didn’t understand the intricate details of having and maintaining a brand. I didn’t know about catchy hooks and captivating one-liners to gain and hold attention.

All I knew was, post, post, and post.

I was gaining followers and attention from my music by simply distributing my music and posting about it. I did everything organic.

No paid ads and hiring a marketing team. I learned things the hard and difficult way.

In one of my songs, I said, "I built and made the door," which is the entire philosophy behind the 1% Structural Blueprint.

Ultimately meaning, if a door: a record deal, an industry connection, a social media trend, etc. didn't align with me and my vision, I simply kept it moving and decided to build my own door (opportunity) which then began leading my own path.

I was operating off sheer will and a grinding mindset. I took no one's blueprint, but what happened was, I created my own.

In my music career, I never set out to become the top 1% in the most saturated genres. For a better picture, there are over 1 million hip-hop and rap artists in the world, and I ranked top 100K in 2021, and top 50K for R&B, Soul, and Funk.

My daily efforts compounded, no matter how big or small they were, they worked.

Before I was a full-time Independent Hip-Hop Artist, I was an apprentice electrician.

I spent my days looking at literal blueprints, studying floor layouts and walking the scope to see where the pipe would run.

I learned that if you don’t measure the 90-degree bend correctly, the whole system fails. I was constantly studying, applying, and implementing a specific skill set.

This became my realization: If I needed a blueprint to build a structure in the physical world, why would I try to build my online presence without one?

Most artists are trying to pull wire through a building that doesn’t have any walls yet. They have no layout. They are ‘guessing’ where the power goes.

I realized my music career needed the same precision as an electrical grid.

I listened to my friends (my first fans) and applied their constructive criticism to my mixing and mastering sessions.

Which led to putting out better sounding music and kept stacking those tracks to garner more fans and support.

Like my friends, they were the straps to the pipe I ran. They held my pipeline in place before I even got the wire pulled through and landed. You need support, no matter what you do.

The strategies that led me to become a Top-Ranked Hip-Hop artist are what I put into the 1% Structural Blueprint for HYiA.
